Taking a long break for yourself

去年年底，我给自己放了三个月的假。这三个月我没有工作。我花了一个半月的时间旅行，剩下的时间休息。 这是我的职场假期，而我很感激这段时光。

At the end of last year, I gave myself a three-month vacation. During these three months, I didn't work. I spent one and a half months traveling and the rest of the time resting. This was my career break, and I am grateful for this period.

过去的六年里，我一直努力工作，我的全职工作是用户体验设计。2020年疫情期间，我开始了远程工作。

但是经历了三年多的远程工工作，我感到十分疲惫。 无法当面见到同事，让我觉得缺乏社交连接。 在视频会议里，我们每个人都在一个个小格子里，感觉很不真实，好像我们都是虚拟人物。

For the past six years, I have been working hard at my full-time job as a user experience designer. During the pandemic in 2020, I started working remotely.

But after more than three years of remote work, I felt extremely exhausted. Not being able to meet colleagues in person made me feel a lack of social connection. In video meetings, each of us was in a small box, which felt very unreal, as if we were all virtual characters.

有时候工作压力大，做的设计项目开始变得枯燥。 我越来越不喜欢我的工作，每天早晨都拖很久才起床，因为我不知道如何面对新的一天。

去年年底，我决定休息一段时间。于是我裸辞了。

Sometimes, the work pressure was high, and the design projects I was working on started to become tedious. I began to like my job less and less, and every morning I dragged myself out of bed because I didn't know how to face the new day.

At the end of last year, I decided to take a break. So, I resigned without another job lined up.

但我必须承认，裸辞是有点冒险的。 裸辞意味着我没有找下一个工作。 所以我提前准备好了存款，来支持自己的生活费用。

But I must admit, resigning without another job lined up is a bit risky. It means I didn't have a new job waiting. So, I prepared my savings in advance to support my living expenses.

这段三个月的假期让我调整了身心。 我回中国看望了家人，去印度旅行。 我加入了一些社交活动，认识了新的朋友。

更重要的是，我不再感到那么疲惫。 我又重新拾起了对设计的热情。 我想要继续做设计工作，同时继续做中文教学视频。

This three-month vacation allowed me to recharge physically and mentally. I went back to China to visit my family and traveled to India. I joined some social activities and made new friends.

More importantly, I no longer felt so exhausted. I regained my passion for design. I want to continue working in design and also continue making Chinese teaching videos.

这个假期之后，我花了一段时间找了新的工作。

下周我要开始新工作了。 令我开心的是，这个工作需要每周去一次办公室。 三年多远程工作之后，我终于可以去办公室工作了！ 我很期待见到同事。 但我也有点紧张，需要适应新的公司。

After this vacation, I spent some time looking for a new job.

I will start my new job next week. What makes me happy is that this job requires going to the office once a week. After more than three years of remote work, I can finally go to an office! I am looking forward to meeting my colleagues. But I am also a bit nervous about adapting to a new company.

不管怎样，我很感激自己勇敢地离开了不喜欢的工作，给自己放了一段假期。
