Facing my fears

👋 大家好!

有一句话叫活到老学到老，意思是说一个人不管到多大的年纪都要不断学习。我现在就在学习新的爱好。每周三晚上我去滑冰场学滑冰⛸️。

在学习滑冰的过程中，我有了一些人生感悟，想和你们分享。

Hello, everyone!

There is a saying, "Live and learn," which means that no matter how old a person gets, they should never stop learning. I am currently learning a new hobby. Every Wednesday evening, I go to the ice rink to learn how to skate.
During the process of learning to skate, I’ve gained some life insights that I’d like to share with you.

"When you face your greatest fears, you gain courage."

滑冰是我一直都想要学习的运动。在加拿大，滑冰是很流行的运动。尤其是冬天，很多人都会去户外滑冰。我在几年前试过滑冰。但是我很害怕，所以我从来都没有放开的去滑。与其说是滑冰，不如说我是在冰上一点点的向前走。这次我终于下定决心要学会滑冰。我专门买了滑冰鞋和头盔，报名上滑冰课。

Skating is a sport I have always wanted to learn. In Canada, skating is a very popular sport. Especially in winter, many people go skating outdoors. A few years ago, I tried skating, but I was very scared, so I never really skated freely. It was more like inching forward on the ice than actually skating. This time, I finally decided to learn how to skate. I bought skates and a helmet and signed up for skating lessons.

第一次上课的时候我问教练，“我很害怕摔倒怎么办”。教练微笑着对我说，“那我们来学学如何正确地摔倒”。她告诉我屈膝向下蹲。我一开始很犹豫，反复和她确认正确的动作。最后我终于下定决心跟着她一起。我学着她的样子弯着膝盖向下蹲，坐在了地上。

During my first lesson, I asked the coach, "What if I’m too scared to fall?" The coach smiled and said, "Then let's learn how to fall properly." She told me to bend my knees and squat down. At first, I hesitated and kept confirming the correct moves with her. Finally, I made up my mind to follow her. I bent my knees, squatted down, and sat on the ground.

当我坐到地上“摔倒”的时候，我感到如释重负。这个摔倒练习，让我放松了下来。我已经面对了我最害怕的事情。我有信心大胆的去滑冰了。

When I "fell" and sat on the ground, I felt relieved. This falling exercise helped me relax. I had already faced my biggest fear. Now, I had the confidence to skate boldly.

我开始想到其他我害怕的事情 — 公共演讲，表达不同的意见，开车长途旅行… 为什么我不去面对这些事情呢？我想带着勇气去面对未来的挑战。
